Service Description

The Red Cross Aquatic Attraction Lifeguarding course is a specialized training program designed to prepare lifeguards to effectively supervise and respond to emergencies in aquatic facilities that feature attractions such as water slides, lazy rivers, wave pools, and interactive play structures. This course focuses on unique challenges presented by these environments, emphasizing surveillance techniques, zone coverage, and rapid response skills in high-activity areas. Participants will learn the following: Recognition and response to distressed swimmers and drowning victims in aquatic attraction settings Effective scanning and patron surveillance in high-density environments Water rescue skills tailored to attractions with moving water and complex structures Emergency action plans (EAPs) and coordination with facility staff Basic First Aid, CPR for the Professional Rescuer, and AED use The course will include an online portion as well as classroom instruction and practical, hands-on skill sessions. Upon successful completion, participants receive an American Red Cross Aquatic Attraction Lifeguarding certification, including CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and First Aid - all valid for two years.
