Service Description
The Basic Life Support (BLS) and Responding to Emergencies course is designed to prepare participants to recognize and respond to breathing and cardiac emergencies in adults, children, and infants. This course emphasizes high-quality CPR, use of an automated external defibrillator (AED), ventilations, and basic airway management. Participants will learn the following: High-quality CPR for adults, children, and infants Use of an automated external defibrillator (AED) Providing ventilations and managing airways Recognizing and responding to cardiac arrest Team-based approaches to emergency care Providing care for sudden illness and traumatic injuries until help arrives **The course will include an online portion as well as classroom instruction and practical, hands-on skill sessions. Upon successful completion, participants receive a nationally recognized Red Cross certification, valid for two years.**
