Service Description
The Red Cross Lifeguarding with Deep Water Certification course is a comprehensive training program that prepares individuals to become professional lifeguards with skills to supervise and respond to emergencies in both shallow and deep water environments. This course is ideal for those seeking employment at pools, waterparks, and aquatic facilities that require deep water rescue capabilities. Participants will learn the following: Prevent, recognize, and respond to aquatic emergencies in both shallow and deep water (over 7 feet) Perform water rescues, including surface and submerged victim retrievals Provide professional-level CPR, AED use, and first aid care for breathing and cardiac emergencies Manage spinal injures Prerequisite: Swim 200 yards; tread water for 2 minutes without hands; retrieve a 10-pound brick in 7-10 feet of water. Failure to meet swim test requirements will prevent further participation in the course The course will include an online portion as well as classroom instruction and practical, hands-on skill sessions. Upon successful completion, participants receive an American Red Cross Lifeguarding certification, including CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and First Aid - all valid for two years.
